Summer Time 2009

Well, what exactly does it mean to be a wildcrafter in Central Texas? It means that you have patience and SLOW down when summer hits. We are in the worst drought in over 100 years in Central Texas, surpassing all other parts of the country. You can keep track of the drought here http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ewx/?n=drought.html
My Garden is struggling and some very hearty drought tolerant plants in the greenbelt behind me are dying or are dead, including a giant agarita that must be over 25 years old.
We received a touch of rain, but its not enough. Please support all the local farms and csas that are also working thru this to grow food. I cannot believe what they must be going through right now. If anyone knows any good rain spells please share.
Whatever ebbs must then flow, so I am really hoping for a weird wet summer, which can happen now and then in Central Texas, otherwise I am not going to be harvesting anything in the wild anytime soon
